Trail riding

Does anyone know if you can book a trail ride independently in the Yukon? We want to rent a car and drive up to Emerald lake next June and we would like to do some horseback riding too. I don't want to book a whole tour w/riding. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.....

You can book directly with Joni MacKinnon, owner and operator of the Emerald Lake Ranch, at http://www.yukonhorses.com. They offer 2 hour trail rides around Emerald Lake. You may ride with Joni herself. She has a remarkable biography. She was the first women president of the Yukon Fish and Game Association. She works with at risk teenagers who work at the ranch learning to ride and care for the horses.

 

She is very personable and and an accomplished rider and guide. The ranch is not a ship sponsored vendor so you will be with a small group or by yourselves on the ride.
