cruisedaze1929 Posted October 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2006 HI gang, RCCL excursion Question: My wife and I will be on the 9 day cruise to bermuda, san Juan, St Thomas, St Martin on May 11th 2007 on the Explorer Even tho we have been to all these places, we go really for the boat. My question is this: My wife doesnt swim, but she is a big animal lover and in this case a mammal lover. The Dolphin discovery excursion for St Martin states you dont have to swim to be in contact with the dolphins. Is this excursion worthwhile time and money wise . Really asking if she will enjoy herself even tho she doesnt swim. Thank you for all your help in advance. Keep the tradition alive"men wear tux's, women Gowns during formal nights"
Karen Carney Posted October 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2006 I believe your wife will enjoy the Discovery even tho she won't have the intense experience that a swim brings. She will be able to touch them and spend some time with the Dolphins. When you do a swim you are wearing a life vest which holds you on top of the water. If her comfort level in the water is good maybe the swim would work for her. Either way she will have the thrill of the Dolphins.
psycho_bowler_chick Posted October 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2006 If you wife loves Dolphins, like I do, do not hesitate! For the swim, they give you life jackets, and there is NO problem interacting. If she's still not thrilled about the swimming thing, I believe there is also a "dolphin encounter", where you are only about waist-deep when you interact with them. My friend (a non-swimmer) did this, and she enjoyed it, but after viewing my video, wished she had opted for the swim. Either way, enjoy- it's an experience neither of you will forget!
