cdillon23 Posted October 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2006 I was looking at cruisecal.com today and it shows the Celebration as being in Jacksonville from today till Saturday. Anyone know why?

Cruzman Posted October 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2006 Hmmm, guess the bar staff will get some time off, lol!
dgsiii Posted October 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2006 The casino staff will be getting a little time off too, it seems. They're removing or covering all the machines and tables and running an inspirational bookstore in the casino space during the cruise. I was a little worried about this since I cruise between this and another religious charter, so I emailed the casino director. Chris gave me a few details and assured me that the casino and all the bars would be open during my cruise this Saturday. Whew!
cruiser3175 Posted October 31, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Could you share those details? I'm freaking out... I leave on the Celebration on November 13. HELP!

cruiser3175 Posted October 31, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Just found the November 9-13 christian womens charter of the Celebration. Still going to search. I can't do the all women thing. And I need some bad things surrounding me. :D
Sue L Posted October 31, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Are you sure they are closing the casino? We had a large church group on our last cruise and I don't think some of the little church ladies ever left their seats at the slots. LOL:D
dgsiii Posted October 31, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 31, 2006 You can email the casino host for each Carnival ship at the oceanplayersclub.com site. I'm not sure about the ladies charter from the 10th to the 14th, but the "Singing at Sea" tour currently taking place is a specialized charter that takes over the entire ship-- not just a few church ladies monopolizing the nickel slots! I'd link their site, but it is a travel agency, so here is a snippet: Imagine the luxury and comfort of vacationing on a floating resort, while at the same time enjoying great Southern Gospel music. Templeton Tours has chartered the entire ms Celebration for this Christian cruise. The casino is converted into a Christian bookstore, the bars are serving non-alcoholic drinks, and the ship's entertainers are replaced by great SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC. nanaj1 Posted October 31, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Hi I am on the November 13th cruise as well. I am on with between 80 or 90 odd women, but we are not a Gospel group, we are from Harmony Inc, Barbershop singing. We will be known around the ship with our singing and also we LOVE to have fun. I love the casino, so it better be open on this cruise. Anyway, if you see any of us CRUISER3175, please say hi to everyone and please come and listen to us sing. jen
