highcard Posted November 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Hello! My husband and I along with our two girls (11 & 8) will be on this cruise with 2 other families. We have never traveled with Costa before and would love any tips for excursions!:) I would love to see Tulum and Xel-Ha-Lagoons out of Cozumel, has anyone done this excursion? I wonder how long the bus ride will be?! Any information would be helpful!!!

highcard Posted November 1, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted November 1, 2006 We are coming from Charleston, SC. It is in the 70's today! I don't envy you in the snow!:) My brother, his wife and my 1year old nephew along with two of my friends and ones 7 year old son will be with us also! We are all in our 30's. Ready for some family time and alone time!! This will be the first cruise for our kids. My husband and I have been on RC before and had a wonderful time. Have you ever been on the Medeterranea before? Have you ever been to any of our ports of call? Any recommendations for excursions or going out on our own? Any tips for traveling on the cruise with kids would be appreciated also! Thank you! I can't wait to be on the cruise!!!:):):)
Jdleong Posted November 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2006 That was a promotion earlier, however in the brochure it states that kids sail for $199 on cruises of 5 nights or longer...check into that... I have been to Roatan,Grand Cayman, and Cozumel before. I would reccommend snorkeling in Roatan, swimming with the stingrays in Grand Caymans using Nativeways, and in Cozumel we are going to go snorkeling again. Check out these sites for ideas... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=27 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=210 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=147 as for Key West it will be my first time... For the alone time, I recommend Medusa for dinner, I hear it is great! Jan
highcard Posted November 1, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Thanks for the tips! We have never been to any of the ports!:) I wish we could leave today!!! Do you book your excursions early- before you get to the boat? If you do, do you call Costa or is there a website? Thanks for all your help! Jdleong Posted November 1, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2006 You can book your excursion thru Costa by registering on their site, put in your booking#, and go to excursions. I book my own privately, it is cheaper and I know some of the people, or have been to the place before so I have a good idea of what to expect. http://www.caribbeanportreviews.com/CozumelChankanaab.htm http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/shiptours.html I have done both of these before, they were great Jan

I am going to call to see if we can do this with out the ziplines since the kids arent old enough. Thanks again!!:D Erin
