madkil Posted November 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2006 We are going on a RCCL cruisetour to alaska in June 2007. We booked with air and the price they gave us is $719 from Newark, NJ. The tour leaves from Fairbanks and there are no direct flights. The cruise ends in Vancouver so the flights are from different cities. I was able to find a Continental from Newark to Seattle, Seattle to Fairbanks. The return was from Vancouver to Newark Non Stop. The price is 888. What I am nervous about is if we stay with the cruise air we will have multiple stop overs. Does anyone know how far in advance we can find out what flights RCCL has booked for us? I do not have an answer to your question but; if I am not mistaken, when you purchase cruise air, the airport transfers are included. Again, I could be wrong. cruisecookie Posted November 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2006 I posted a similar question on this board a few weeks ago and didn't get much of a response. It sounds like we are taking a very similar cruise, but we are traveling in August. I believe that RCCL will not tell you the details of your air arrangements until 60 days before your trip. From Baltimore RCCL is charging us $849. I thought that I could do it cheaper on my own, but after reading your post, I'm not so sure. If you are willing to pay some extra fees RCCL will let you customize your airfare. We are diamond RCCL members and one of the perks is free custom airfare. madkil Posted November 16, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 16, 2006 Went on Continental.com last night. Was able to get a flight out at 8 AM to Seattle and the seattle to fairbanks. We arrive in fairbanks at 3:30. Our cruisetour starts the following day. We are staying overnight in Vancouver after the cruise ends fly back non-stop from Vancouver to Newark the next day. Price was 680 per person down from about 900 just last week. I checked the site again today and the price is up to 1082 per person. I think I was just lucky.
