Shelben Posted November 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Has anyone gone on the Island Hoppers? What is the chair rotation all about. How many people were on board? Was it worth it?
IslandJim Posted November 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2006 I thought I might help with your question in case the others don't clearly understand. Island Hopper is a boat brand and a company here called Sand Dollar Sports operates six of them that belong to Angler's Fleet. I know the owners and some of their crews. They are good folks, all of them. When sold via Carnival Cruises it is generally on an "individual space" basis and they sell six per boat minimum, if they can fill it. Chair rotation refers to the "fighting chair" occupation time. If you are occupying the fighting chair at the time of a strike, you will be handed the rod once the mate sets the hook and that will be your fish if you land it. Then another fisherman will occupy the chair. It's pretty common in sharing a charter boat. If this is what you are talking about http://www.carnival.com/ShoreExcursionDetails.aspx?portcode=CZM&excursionname=Deep+Sea+Fishing&excursioncode=304011
