Hurry Back Intrepid

For those who sail or will be sailing out of the NYC Cruise Terminal within the next 1-2 years will miss seeing a wonderful attraction. The Naval Carrier INTREPID will be heading to Bayonne NJ for dry dock today. She will be undergoing some renovations and should return to its NY berth in 2008.

The mission was scrubbed for the day at around 10:30 a.m. as the tide went down, said Dan Bender, a Coast Guard spokesman. There was no immediate word when the effort would resume.

After 24 years at the same Hudson River pier, the legendary aircraft carrier USS Intrepid was inched out of its berth by powerful tugboats on Monday _ but the trip never got under way because it got stuck in the mud as the tide went down. The mission was scrubbed for the day at around 10:30 a.m., according to Dan Bender, a Coast Guard spokesman.

Just letting people who will be sailing on NCL Dawn or Spirit out of NY know what is going on. Some people do visit this landmark before they board the ships.. I did........ Have you??? I am sure that if the moderators think that this does not belong here they will move it.. Just a heads up thats all...
