CaribbeanCrazy Posted November 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2006 How easy is it to see the sights by bus? The following are some the sights we would like to see... East Coast-Bathsheba, Crane beach etc. Harrisons Cave-will it be opened by April 7th? Barbados Wildlife Reserve Folkstone Marine Park-Is this place open on Saturdays? Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary...Is this place worth the 12.50pp charge? Welchman Hall Gully-Any Comments on this place? Are any of these accessable by bus? Normally we would rent a car...but the price for a car rental is very expensive compared to some of the other islands we are going to. We like to travel by bus...but I'm not sure how feasible it would be to get to the places we want to go. We will be there untill after dark so we have the whole day to sightsee. I know we could book a tour but that usually isn't our preference. We don't like to plan ahead just incase something comes up and we change our minds. Also we are trying to keep the cost down some...being we are doing a 14 day cruise that is very port extensive. I would appreciate any comments or advice you can contribute.:) Thanks CaribbeanCrazy
Sunniebgi Posted November 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2006 well I personally wouldn't do it by bus, especially since you are coming during the Cricket World Cup and there will be many others trying to catch the buses as well. I would suggest that you either hire a private guide or taxi or rent a car. have you tried Stoutes Car Rental?? They say the harrisons Cave will be open by then, for at least 1 month, during the cricket, but one can never tell.
CaribbeanCrazy Posted November 6, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted November 6, 2006 Thanks for the info. I didn't realize we would be there during the Cricket World Cup. So your saying everything will be pretty crowded! Being we have been to Barbados several times off a cruise ship maybe we should just stay on the ship. As I said it is a 14day cruise that is very port extensive. We don't have many sea days...so maybe we can make this a relax on the ship day.:) Thanks for warning us about the crowds:) CaribbeanCrazy
