twobluecats Posted November 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2006 We are looking closely at a Hawaii Christmas 2007 cruise, and I was wondering if it makes more sense to book now or wait until our March 2007 Panama cruise and hope for an onboard credit? Also, any clue when 2008 Northern Europe will come out?

DaisyGirl55 Posted November 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2006 I would suggest that you go ahead and book onboard, especially if you know what sailing you want. Why turn down onboard credits, or possible upgrades? Many times we look ahead and see where we want to go next. If the itinerary and ship match, we will book - even if the next cruise is a year or so out! You are only out the deposit - which you can get back, and you get some credits out of it. I also like working with a "live" person once in a while, instead of most of my bookings which are done either online or by phone. Hope this helps! twobluecats Posted November 9, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 9, 2006 Thanks for the reply. What about the possiblity of a rate increase between now and March or the chance of certain categories selling out (since it is a holiday cruise)? m steve Posted November 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2006 we had a cruise booked on Princess before sailing on it it the first time and when we went to book for on board credits they just checked our reservation, took our on board deposit and credited as an additional deposit and we got our credits. I am sure X will do the same.
jerseygirl3 Posted November 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2006 Why not book now so you have a back-up plan just in case the prices go up before your cruise in March. If they don't, cancel the original booking and rebook when you're onboard.
