My wife and I will be leaving out of San Diego on the Dec 1st cruise to Mexico on the Mercury. Does anyone have any tours which they reccomend? This is our 9th cruise on Celebrity, but first to this area. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks....

Hi,

there is a roll call forum for December 1st. sailing. Several people discussed

the tours they will be taking. We have been to these ports many times so won't be touring.Sign up for the cruise critic party. There is a group of over 30 people already signed up. The Mexican ports are my favorites, very pictoresque quaint towns.

Hi,

You MUST sign up for the Las Caletas Hideaway....a wonderful experience, one not to be missed! We are on the Feb. 9, '07 Mercury sailing and are looking forward to doing this again. One of the best that we can recommend, and it is offered in Puerto Vallerta (sp).

Do enjoy your cruise!

Regards,

Don and Kathie

Have you looked over your Celebrity Cruise Docs booklet? What are your interests? There is really so much to do..

My wife and I are signed up for a tour in Puerto Vallarta with a tour guide named Tony Sanchez, who came highly recommended from several people on the Cruise Critic board. Tony charges $200 for an eight-seat van and will customize the tour (we requested a City/jungle tour but haven't been more detailed than that). We are looking for six other people to join us, to get the cost down to $25/pp. If you--or anyone else reading this--is interested in joining us, please let me know. The comparable ship tour is $36/pp and has about 35 people.

This is a wonderful cruise.

We did this cruise earlier this year on the MERCURY.

ONE area of caution. Beware of pickpockets in Acapulco.

We were victims of a guy that squirted some "brown stuff"

on me (which I had not noticed) and, then told me

"Meeester, you have bird crap on you."

He proceeded to produce a hankie, to help wipe it off of

me, meanwhile, lifting my wallet out of my hip pocket.

He and I scuffled when I realized what he had done in "helping me".

He dropped the wallet and, we immediately returned to the ship to clean

all the "crap" he had gotten all over me with his turkey baster.

Actually, it was a big mess, but, we were very thankful he failed.

(My first clue should have told me, "that was a big bird!")

Now, I will always carry only what I need ashore, and, that will

be in a fanny pack, in front of me.

No more wallets in hip pockets for sure.

That was the first time I had ever had a run-in with a

pickpocket in over 40 years of travels.

Location: Hotel row, main blvd. through Acapulco.
