puckstopper27 Posted November 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2006 We just got our cruise documents for th 12/9 sailing. There was a notice in the docs that said boarding won't begin until around 2pm and advised not to even show up at the port until after 1pm. Apparently, this is due to the heightened security screening on ships returning to port. Are there any recent NOS cruisers that can verify the late boarding hours and also let us know about how long it's taking to disembark?

We got to the port around 10:30 and we walked right on we had to wait maybe 40 min to go through security and we were on the ship by noon. In our room by 1:00 and had our luggage by 3:00. very smooth, have a great time, Vo922:p
Cruising89143 Posted November 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2006 Bottom line is that boarding can differ week to week. I have cruised on the Navigator the past two years and each time boarding started at 12:30. I had family on in October and it was after 1:00 before they started boarding. It all depends on how fast the ship clears the previous passengers. If there are a lot of non U.S citizens on board then it can take much longer to clear the ship. I think that RCI is trying to space out the arrivals at the port to help with crowd control. Now folks who arrive early and have to wait will no longer be able to complain as they were warned.:) Have a great cruise as the Navigator is a great ship.
