More details about tips?

We paid for tips in advance and I know you get vouchers at the end of the cruise to hand out. I also know that tips are included in the price of drinks. The thing I want to know is are any tips expected DURING the cruise. I'd hate to get bad service because the staff thought I was a lousy tipper since I'm expecting to hand them out at the end.

You do not need to tip during the cruise, but saying that if someone does something extra for you and you don't think you will see them again then you might want to, you don't HAVE to.

The only other time we have tipped separately is at Portofino's, which some people do and some people dont

Have fun!!!!

Also, don't forget to tip for room service. I tip considering the amount of food to be delivered but usually about $5 a tray. If its just coffee, a couple of bucks is good. As always, tipping is up to you and the service you get or expect in the future.

I wonder how many people still give a little tip for room service. I ordered breakfast two or three times on my recent Grandeur cruise, and at least once, the deliverer seemed quite surprised that I offered a couple bucks! It was kind of strange.

If you play table games in the casino, is it customary to tip the dealer? Or only if you're winning... :D I'm not a regular gambler, and was wondering.

Chris

Customary and appreciated, yes, but not required. Many many gamblers never tip, some always do. Some tip the dealer as they leave the table but more common is to make a bet for the dealer alongside yours. If you were playing blackjack you would put a dollar or two on the edge of the betting circle, and they would win or lose along with you.

No worries, I don't think the servers and cabin attendants know your tipping intentions until the last night of the cruise.

We always tips the porters when we are embarking, but don't really need them when we disembark.

We always tip a little to room service.

We also keep small bills handy for taxi or shuttle drivers, maids at the hotel if we stay pre-cruise and for any incidentals.

Thanks very much for the info! I would never have thought of placing a bet for the dealer.
