OceanLiner Posted November 23, 2006 #26 Share Posted November 23, 2006 I remember the thread...you did post a lot of great info. :) Thanks. My second favorite part of the Neptune Lounge is the coffee machine, followed by playing with the really cool remote controled cover for the food service. I think that we put 10 cruises of wear and tear on that thing during the first day!

I've not heard about that.
OceanLiner Posted November 23, 2006 #28 Share Posted November 23, 2006 Everything about the Neptune Lounge sounds wonderful. But what's the remote controlled cover? I've not heard about that. The food service is in a circular stand about 1 meter is diameter, with a plexiglass dome over the top to keep it fresh. There is a remote control with an up and down button, and by pressing this thing the dome rises up so that you can get your goodies, and then downward when you are done. Imagine letting the remote fall into the hands of a 10 year old and the useage rate just shot up exponentialy. It, and the coffee machine, really are pretty cool. Also, try to get the staff to take you to the cold room in the galley, its also amazing, even the counters are chilled. Have Fune! I forgot something about the coffee machine. The product was good, but not great. Then my 10 year old watched the staff clean and adjust the machine. After a bit of time my son was serving coffee to the guests. Latter, a guest had some coffee from the concierge at which time the guest said, "not like this, I want the coffee the way the young man can make it." Apparently my son had figured out how to adjust the machine to allow a mix more approximating a French Press instead of a standard mix. Now the Volendam coffee has gone from good to great! Sounds cool. And I'll bet your son had a blast.
