Hotels Near Port Everglades

Can anyone recommend a hotel near the Princess Port in Port Everglades. It doesn't have to be fancy (although tha would be nice), just clean and safe. Thanks.

You can find a lot of information about Ft. Lauderdale on the East Coast Departures page. There are a number of good hotels within 15 minutes of the port area.

Go to your favorite travel website and search for fort lauderdale downtown or beach area. There are plenty of hotels nearby.

we stayed at the hyatt pier 66 which we booked through priceline and we loved the hotel and it is right near the port

there was also an embassy suites near the port which looked nice too

We stayed at La Quinta. They have a large shuttle to take you to the ship, plus a free continental breakfast in the morning. They are within walking distance of a small shopping center where you can catch dinner the night before the cruise.

Just booked my cruise to the Panama out of Fort Lauderdale with Princess. I had looked into hotels online and the best price I could find was $147 for the Holiday Inn Express. Some of the other hotels were cheaper but I had heard thru other CC members that they were dives. Well to make a long story short, Princess quoted me much lower prices than in their brochures. In April 2007 the Renaissance Plantation is $69pp/$138 total and that includes your transfers from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to the dock. The Renaissance Fort Lauderdal was $109pp. I did not check on the Marriott North which is also in their brochure but it should be even cheaper than the other two.

I have found that sometimes Princess is the best place to check first. Hope this helps Barb:)

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last year. It was fine, but located on a busy boulevard- yet close to restaurants.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but the Renaissance Plantation, I bellieve, is out west, very close to Sawgrass Mills Mall. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around and the hotel is beautiful.

Stayed at Extended Stay America 17th St. last month - clean, quiet, cheap ($85), great location, (you could walk out and see the port), lots of restaurants, 3 or 4 liquor stores, evrything you need!

Be aware that Princess has a limited number of rooms available at these hotels for their passengers to book. We are booked for Spring Break 2007 and couldn't get a room at any of the hotels pre- and post cruise. We have no choice but to pay inflated hotel prices on our own.
