Cruise Pop-Ups when on this board

I have started getting pop-ups regarding cruises from http://previewpops.com. This started happening when the new boards came on. Maybe it is a coincidence, I'm not sue, but it is terribly annoying!

Someone (you or someone using your computer) downloaded (advertently or inadvertently) some spywear.

 

This spywear will track the websites you visit and pull down ads it feels match your interests.

 

You can download and install a free and reliable spyware blocker called Ad-aware 6 Personal. It is available from lavasoft.com.

 

One thing you DO get here is that obnoxious popup for the CruiseCritic newsletter (i.e. way to get you on a mailing list that is then sold to travel-related solicitors).

I would also recommend using the google toolbar. Easy access for searching and it also has a popup blocker

Again maybe a coincidence but my computer has been flooded with spyware since I have been coming to these new boards . Have not used any new sites but this one!I have to run my spy ware detector and delete about 8 different things everytime I come Here!

I have the problem everytime I come here so now I just run the spyware program and delete them every time I'm here. it's not that big a deal now that I know I have to do that.

I use these board on both PC's and Mac computers. The popups are definitely NOT from this board. Your problem is Spyware/Adware (click link for definitions).

 

Search Google for Remove Adware and lots of helpful links will come up.

I run spyware and pop up blockers. Have had no problem with ads from CC.

I installed "adware 6.0" and "popup stopper". Solved the problem. Thanks to you all for the great advice.
