Short Beach Break in Nassau

Recommended Posts

We are only scheduled to be in Nassau for about 4 hours. Can anyone suggest a good location for a short beach break?

Thank you.

My family and I went to The British Colonial Hotel, a short walk from the pier. For $15.00 per person, you can use their beach and pool, they also give you towels. It was beautiful, we really enjoyed our day.

Carlakuch,

Thank you for the suggestion.

Did the hotel have any other facilities, such as snorkeling, bar, grill, etc?

MNMickey,

Yes, the hotel did have a bar/grill right off the pool area, also I think you can rent snorkeling gear and small paddle boats. I am not so sure about snorkeling in that area though, the water is shallow. But it is a very clean, clear water. Hope this helps.

Regarding the British Colonial Hotel, if we would like to spend a few hours there at the pool and beach- does it need to be arranged in advance with the hotel ?

Also, how long does it take to walk there?? Is it a safe area to walk? - we'll have a 2 yr old (in stroller), 5 yr old and 7 yr old. Oh, I guess I should ask- do you know if they allow children??

Thanks for this info!

CWNNP,

Hi, you do not need to arrange in advance, just walk up to the lobby window and pay for the passes, you will get a receipt for towels.

It is about a 10 min. walk, and yes, children are allowed. It is a very quiet beach. Nice sand for the kids to play in. It is a safe walk. Have a great time.
