Just back from Diamond Princess- advice for disembarkment.

:D First time cruiser back from Alaska Cruise on Diamond Princess. Group of ten in cabins Aloha -A410-420 with balconies.

I read all the postings before cruise about problems with accident. We had no problems with embarkment, cruise, or ports. We went to all the ports including Tracy Arm (amazing) and Victoria.

The only problem was with diembarkment. It was inefficient. Take advantage of carrying your own luggage off the ship early to avoid chaos in the customs terminal.

The post-cruise transportation to Seattle airport was not well done either. The bus left us off at one end of the airport which was good for American and United flights, but for the other airlines, it was a long walk to the terminal. We were on Delta and it was at the opposite end of the airport.

Overall we had a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat.

wish i had known about express debarkation on our march diamond cruise. we only had carry on and didn't get off the ship until 10:30, then had a ten hour drive home.
