Stateroom Size on Dawn

According to the brochure that I have, a balcony stateroom on Dawn Princess measures 179 sq.ft. including balacony. That would make the room itself about 140 sq. ft. Is this correct? That seems awfully small. The Dawn looks like the perfect size for us, but not if the balcony rooms are that tiny!

Last balcony room we had was on the Dawn Princess. They were just too tiny for our tastes. Many enjoy them, but we like a bit more room to relax. We now always go for minis or full suites on the Sun Class ships.

You have the sq. footage about right. The balcony is about 3 foot deep and the width of the stateroom, so subtract about 30 feet from the room size and you come up with an average of about 140-149 sq. ft. for the actual room. Just a heads up, the bathrooms are also very very tiny with small showers.

We sail Dawn and Sun balconies often.

Yes they're small, but for us, it's still so enjoyable to sit enjoy morning coffee or afternoon cocktail on the balcony. It's big enough for two comfortable good sized deck-type chairs (not chaise lounges) and a round table. Still awfully nice to have the open door breeze, especially the ocean sound when going to sleep, and to lean over as we sail.

Minis are wonderful too; love them! But $$$ and any special fares dictate what we book.
