Amount of credit card hold?

I cannot remember the amount of the hold... I thought it was maybe $200 pp? It depends on the length of your cruise and the number of people... you can call and ask... this is from their website:

If you are using a credit card or debit/check cashing card please be advised that there will be a hold placed on your account as a deposit for your onboard purchases. During your cruise additional holds will be added if your Sail & Sign® account exceeds the amount of deposit Carnival has on file. If you presented a credit card, this will reduce the amount available on your credit card for other purchases. If you presented a debit/check cashing card, the hold will restrict the available cash in your checking account. All charges will be billed to the credit card or debit/check cashing card at the end of the cruise.

It was $250.00 per person on our Triumph Eastern Cruise in March.

About the middle of the cruise we won $300.00 in the casino and went and paid off one of the S&S cards and had them close it down and just used the one card for the rest of the cruise.

I thought I remembered hearing somewhere that they have a set amount (depending on length of cruise) for a family... i'm not sure, but you can call carnival... they do include the kids in some way though, as the tips will all be on the S&S card as well...

They check to see if it will take $600. Make sure you have that much available otherwise you will get called to pursers desk, for another card or cash. Its that way on all cruises. Ask your TA or carnival, they will verify that info for you.

I got this from the Carnival website:

A deposit (ranging from $100 to $350 depending on cruise duration) will be required for cash accounts.
