rkcjj Posted November 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2006 We are sailing on Mariner in January with our 3 year old. He is very outgoing when Mommy and Daddy are around...........but no so good without us!!!!! I think the Adventure Ocean will not allow parents to stay (which I totally understand). Just seeing if anyone out there had a 'shy' child that actually enjoyed the AO without mom and dad!
shrimp0 Posted November 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Yes, you are correct... AO staff will not allow parents to go into the room with the children. The AO activities are broken down into short activity times. You can find some on line and talk to your child about how fun they sound. When on the ship, you can bring your child into the AO rooms on the first day during the open house time. This is just a time to walk through and look at the rooms and meet one or two of the counselors. ( this may or may not be a good idea to to with your child... ) You can try out one activity time when there is no pressure for your child to stay there. Maybe the 2nd day morning if you do not have any thing else planned at that time. You can let your child know that you will be back to check when that one activity is done. You may be surprised that your child will want to stay and play longer. If not... dont stress your vacation time... enjoy the other activities on board with your little one.
