twobluecats Posted December 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2006 Good evening. I was wondering if anyone had feedback on CC Cabin 9140 on the Infinity (or other M class ship). We've never been starboard side before, but will be in this cabin for a roundtrip San Diego Hawaii cruise next year. Sound? View?
joeinsb Posted December 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2006 We had 9079 (port, forward of midship) on Summit on a recent Panama Canal cruise and liked it a lot. Very quiet, at least for us. The view is great straight out, but I was a tiny bit disapponited that deck 10 (pool, buffet restaurant, etc) and all decks above it, hang out from the side and act like an awning, which is OK in the rain, but not so good if you want to sunbathe on your verandah. As for overall noise, you'll find that the four Millenium-class ships, which are gas turbine powered, are very quiet and smooth. I think you'll enjoy your cruise and Concierge Class. By the way, although you feel on top of the world on deck 9, it is a hike to the main dining room on deck 4--94 steps to be exact. Of course, you could take the elevator, but how ya gonna work off that meal?:)
twobluecats Posted December 3, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted December 3, 2006 Thanks for the info. And, yes, we will definitely need to do those 94 steps more than once a day to work off all those extra calories that make a cruise so wonderful! vortigern Posted December 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 3, 2006 Just browsing the boards and saw your message - we were in 9140 on Infinity for 15 nights from Miami to San Francisco via the Panama Canal in April this year. We chose this one to be on the starboard side for the arrival in SF, and towards the stern to get a better view of the 'mules' pulling the ship through the canal. No problems with location or view - you do get a good view of the terrace in one of the big suites on deck 6 below but your verandah is not overlooked. CC was OK, we'd cruised almost exclusively with Royal Caribbean until Infinity, laterly in Junior Suites on Navigator and Jewel - 9140 compares well, if a little smaller (no walk-in closet). We're sufficiently happy with X to be cruising with them twice more - Dec 11 (next week - yippee!) on Century for 5 nights from Miami (25th wedding anniversary, so we've splashed out on a Royal Suite) and then Galaxy next May out of Rome. This one is in CC again, cruises in Europe are still expensive, even when we don't have to pay the transatlantic air fare! Hope this helps - I've got some photos of 9140 if you're curious. Enjoy!
