Booking future cruise on board

Is there any deals to be had by booking future cruises while on board. You would think there would be as you are eliminating all the middle men and their pound of flesh. Has anyone done this and gotten a good deal.

To my knowledge this service is not available on Carnival at this time.

I was told that the program was discontinued due to lack of interest. Other lines in the Carnival Corp umbrella have active onboard booking programs, e.g. Princess and HAL.

On my last cruise the area that had been used to purchase future cruises had be taken over by the Carnival Vacation Club.
