dawna1212 Posted December 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2006 I booked through Celebrity a couple of weeks ago.(9/3/2007 cruise) I just found out that if I booked a cruise through Delta's SkyMiles program,I would get 5000 miles on my account. Its the same cruise, same down payment, same everything. Could I cancel with Celebrity and then re-book through Delta's program? Or could I transfer my account from Celebrity to Delta's program? I am a newbie to all of this. Does anyone know if this is possible? Has anyone done this? Thank you!
jer_l Posted December 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2006 I would call Delta and ask them for their recommendation. They might be able to take care of it for you. It would certainly be worth trying. Jerry

Sillyjilly Posted December 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2006 I'm pretty sure you can transfer it. Call Celebrity. I think they'll take care of it for you. Good Luck! Jill

I'd be surprised, but since you could cancel and re-book, who cares? I am a newbie to all of this. Does anyone know if this is possible? Has anyone done this? Thank you! If you have a particularly good cabin booked now, you will probably lose it. But otherwise, you have nothing to lose by going to Delta and starting the booking process. When you get to the place where you know the final cost and what cabin you have, if the deal matches the one you have at Celebrity, you can go ahead and book with Delta and then call Celebrity to cancel. Since you are well outside the time for any penalty, you should get your deposit back. You said you booked through Celebrity so I assume no travel agent is involved that would add a cancellation penalty. Hi Jill.

PatC Posted January 19, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Hey Bob Good to see you. It's so crazy thinking this time last year we were looking forward to our Hawaii cruise with the largest CC group we've ever had! You and Garry are so great and Pearl Harbor is still the best memory of that trip. Hope your March cruise is great and the move is still on. John's still talking about retiring but that's another story. Hopefully soon. Still have to sell this house. We'll be sailing on Galaxy on 3/16 and will remember fondly our sail away on Summit. Stay well and enjoy your next cruise and our best to Garry. Pat C & John
