boop3 Posted December 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2006 Hi All! I have been watching the web cam on the Med and it looks like it has been in the ship yard in Freeport Bahamas for over a week. Is this a scheduled stop to spruce up the ship or is there some kind of problem? Just wondering :p I am starting to get excited for my cruise on 2-4-07. sophiecruiser Posted December 12, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2006 I couldn't be happier about the major fix up/clean up! Especially after the recent outbreaks of norovirus! We are boarding on Dec. 23 - should still be shiny and clean!
shipshapegal Posted December 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2006 We were told it was for a prop. And the ship was immaculate before it went in, believe me. The beds were new and the ship sparkled stem to stern. You will be happy...........
sophiecruiser Posted December 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2006 New beds? That's great! The hard thin matresses are gone?

DaveB Posted December 14, 2006 #10 Share Posted December 14, 2006 It's really freaky. If you look at the map on the webcam page, it looks like it is going in circles around Freeport.
sophiecruiser Posted December 14, 2006 #11 Share Posted December 14, 2006 Maybe testing out the new prop?
joetrizeo Posted December 14, 2006 #12 Share Posted December 14, 2006 What's going on that you think they moved the web cam? Ya think the crew is enjoying a nice day at see while the prop is being tested? just speculation here i know. anyone on the last cruise hear if while the ship is laid up for 2 weeks if the crew stays onboard or gets a break? DaveB Posted December 14, 2006 #13 Share Posted December 14, 2006 I am interested because I am on the 12/16 - 23 sailing. I'll find out when I get on, I guess.
joetrizeo Posted December 14, 2006 #14 Share Posted December 14, 2006 thanks dave. make sure you ask if the crew had a break or what. i'm interested just for general knowledge.
DaveB Posted December 15, 2006 #15 Share Posted December 15, 2006 I bet is was a matter of them getting repaired early, and just wasting time out at sea so they didn't have to pay for additional dockage time in Freeport. Looks like they are in MIA now.
