RDeagazio Posted December 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2006 They usually have workers onboard during the last sailing. They will usually start to "prep" the ship as much as possible. You may notice some of the bars will close earlier than normal etc, but overall not much of a difference.
Twaincruisers Posted December 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2006 We were on Celebrity's Millennium and it was filthy and in disrepair the week before drydock. On the flip side, we were on the Golden Princess right out of drydock and many systems were breaking down including beverage sales (they got that one fixed quickly!), security entering/leaving ship (they had a crewman using a hand-held counter), thrusters (they flew in people from the UK for this and some other things). 0ldog Posted December 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2006 We sailed the Century just prior to her revitalization last year. Other than showing normal aging on carpet, paint, furnishings etc. the quality of the food, service, and shows were as good as if she just came out of dry dock.
