CruiseFarmer Posted December 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2006 My wife and I are booked on the Star 1-9-07 and were wondering if anyone sets up a standing reservatiion for time and table in the Versallis for dinner? We enjoy getting to know our regular waiters and them us, it's nice to have your drinks arrived without having to ask. This will be our 9th cruise, second on the Star, and have always had fine table service. But, we would like the try the specialty restaurants once or twice. Think they will get POed? Any thoughts or advice from some who have done this will be appreciated.
KeystoneCruiser Posted December 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2006 It is very hard to get to know the waiters in Freestyle. They don't always work the same tables or the same dining rooms each night. In addition, the main restaurants only take reservations for large parties (8 or more). We had a waiter that we like in Impressions on the Dawn in June. We went back later in the week and asked for him and were told that he was serving as a "relief waiter" and didn't have any regular tables that night. You might have better luck getting the same waiter if you went to specialty restaurants every night.
