Need help with excursions

We sail in January on Carnival. We are thinking about the following Carnival excursions, any recommendations?

 

1. Tropical Forest Hiking Adventure

2. Kayak & snorkel eco adventure

3. Island safari 4x4

4. Best of antigua

You can most likely get the same tour for a lot less by doing a private tour.

 

If you want the kayak snorkel eco tour - Eli's Eco Tours would be similar. If you book online prior to departure, it is $90 pp. The website address is probably in one of the threads on this board or you could google it to see what they offer.

 

The tropical forest hiking adventure can probably be duplicated privately also. Just read the threads on this board and email some of the people. It will be a much better and less crowded tour than the ship excursion, I guarrantee.

 

And if you choose the best of antigua, I know there are plenty of taxi drivers that will do a better job with less people and for less money. We used Herod in his open-air taxi, about 12 total, and the cost was $20pp for an all day tour with a knowledgeable and nice native.
