Too blessed to be stressed Posted December 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2006 I just noticed my finger nails have ridges. It seems to me that I read somewhere that this can be caused be a lack of a specific vitamin. I guess I could just start taking a multivitamin. Thanks Tammy
caviargal Posted December 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2006 Folic acid can help with these, especially when combined with the B vitamin family. There are a variety of suppluments specifically targetting this including one made by Olay.

Happy ks Posted December 22, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2006 Don't expect immediate results, fingernails can take as long as 4 months to grow out from the nail bed to the tip. Sometimes the ridges are from an illness that you had months ago, or a medication you were on months ago. If the problem persists, maybe even now, I'd consult a doctor for advise. It might be more serious than just a lack of vitamins and I'd rather err on the side of caution.
