Palmar Estate Beach Club

Hopefully other folks will post but just in case ~

PalMar is located in a prime snorkel area and like all other areas, the corals and fish life did suffer damage from the storms. However, snorkelers from the past few months are seeing alot of recovery in the coral and fish. Just yesterday, snorkelers reported seeing not only fish but a southern ray and a big moray eel as well amongst the coral in front of PalMar.

The menu has changed at PalMar and consists mainly of light fare and snacks like guacamole, salsa, quesadillas, etc. Prices are reasonable with drinks starting at $2.

The $8 price includes admission to the butterfly sanctuary now on site.

And there is a coupon for $2 off the admission price available online.

Is Palmar really as uncrowded as it appears?? We'd like to do some shore snorkeling at Dzul Ha, but would enjoy the pool and relaxation afterwards....but we are looking to avoid the crowds from cruise ships (7 ships due in during our cruise!). Also, does anyone know if Palmar serves any non-mexican food...I really am not into guacamole, etc. Thanks for the help, gang!!!

When we were there 2 years ago we were the only ones there. Had the place to ourselves. The food was very good but the menu was limited. Everything was very fresh. Don't remember any non Mexican food, but there might have been something like burgers or something of that sort. Its all food that can be made at a grill.

We loved our day there and would recommend it.
