tflanag1 Posted December 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2006 I'll be sailing on the Valor next week for its Eastern Caribbean itinerary. What time zone will the Valor schedule adhere to? Thanks!
ihhk2 Posted December 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2006 They make it a point to post the time zone on TV and in Capers. Probably Central Time, but I'm not positive. Or is it that "Ship Time" stays on the time at port of departure?
jleq Posted December 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2006 It will vary. Your "daily bulletin" will tell you to reset your clocks and watches either an hour later or earlier on a periodic basis. You will probably be close to shoreside time. If it's not exact, defer to the time given you by the ship
yst347 Posted December 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2006 Nassau is on Eastern time. St. Thomas and St. Martin are on Atlantic time which is one hour ahead of eastern time. We have sailed the Eastern itinerary twice and on both cruises the ship stayed on Eastern time. Chances are your Valor cruise will also. If the ship time is going to change it will be stated clearly in the Capers. If you do not change time, 9:00 AM ship time will be 10:00 AM land time in St. Thomas and St. Martin. If you are worried about privately booked shore tours, don't. The shore vendors are excellent at knowing what time is ship time. Their livelihood depends on it. WERA Posted December 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2006 I've only been on two cruises both with Carnival but both started Eastern time and stayed there no matter what shore time was. Makes sense to keep it simple for everyone.
ihhk2 Posted December 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2006 Sorry, I misread and was thinking "Western" in my first reply.
