Vegetarian's review of the "Pride of Hawaii"

Just got back from our cruise on board NCL's Pride of Hawaii. A couple of people from our group were vegetarians (no meat; milk/dairy/egg products fine). Here's a quick review from their perspective.

  • Grand Pacific & Alizar have vegetarian options every day. We were told that we could ask for special Indian-vegetarian menu (with a 24-hour advance notice). We tried this special menu on a couple of days & it was not bad at all.
  • Aloha cafe had some vegetarian options, but very often the vegetarian dishes came in contact with meat dishes.
  • Many speciality restaurants are ruled out since they have very limited vegetarian options. Papa's Italian Kitchen, Paniola's Mexican & Blue lagoon had good vegetarian options. A couple other restaurants had one or two vegetarian options. Be sure to book the speciality restaurants as early as possible.
  • No whole grain bread is available (during our previous cruise with Royal Caribbean, they had a good selection of whole grain breads).
