I'm only a novice swimmer and I had no problems, they provide you with life vests (this was my second snorkeling excursion at the time). The third stop is with sharks, fantastic!! You don't have to get in but it's definitely a thrilling experience and after everyone gets out of the water they throw bait to the sharks. Definitely a highlight of our cruise last year.

Thank you, swimming with the sharks actually sounds like fun.

I too am a novice swimmer (if u call it swimming, lol:confused: ), but I would love to do some type of water activity like snorkeling but was wondering the same thing as far as what to do with a novice in water...all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Snorkeling is super easy for novices! They will absolutely provide you with a life vest or a life tube. It makes it so you really don't have to do any thing but just float ;)

The first time you put the mask and snorkel and fins on, it can be a little claustrophobic. Just remember you are on top of the water and at any moment you can just lift your head up!

When I was in Nassau, I went with these guys based off a recommendation in the Bahamas forum: http://www.thebahamian.com/bsc/

We did the 1/2 day sail & snorkel. It was a gorgeous reef, uncrowded and the ship guides were a ton of fun and made us homemade rum punch. They had sodas for the kids as well :) I think there were 8-12 of us on the sailboat. They even let people sail the ship for a few minutes each! Awesome hospitality and a great price for the fun.

I hope you have a great time snorkeling :)
