tap & dap Posted December 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2006 We are staying at the Denali and Mt. McKinnley Princess Lodges in May. I understand that meals are not included with the land portion of the trip. What are the options at or near these Lodges? Thanks for the help. Chenega Posted December 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2006 There are several options at the Denali Princess and surrounding hotels ranging from pretty decent sit down places within the hotels to Subway Sandwiches. One of the favorite local places is Lynx Pizza. However, McKinley Princess is a self-contained lodge. When we stopped by last September, there were two dining areas. Both are pretty low-key but the food was quite good.

Chenega is correct that the Denali lodge does have options around the area for dining. The Mt. McKinley Princess lodge is a long way from anything, even by car. We have always foound the food at either lodge has always been very good.

One of the favorite local places is Lynx Pizza. The bad news is that Princess bought out Lynx Creek Pizza. We were very dissapointed when we stopped there last summer. Loud music and Princess employees partying and drunk.
Chenega Posted December 29, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2006 Oh, not good to hear. That was always one of our favorite places. We discovered a nice grill at the new visitor center that is rarely crowded. Mostly soups, sandwiches, pizza, etc. but really decent. Nice place to hit after looking through the exhibits at the visitor center.
