Booked on Jan 14th 2007 Carnival Destiny tour. We have booked from the ship - Malibu Rum Dist. tour- looks like a cheap way to see a plant tour and get beach time - with a drink!!! Is it as it claims? event.png

We did this tour a few years back. They take you by bus to the rum factory , so you get to see some of Barbados on your way. The beach is right behind the rum factory so it's just an O.K. beach. The tour was very interesting and we enjoyed some rum drinks afterwards.

The tour at Malibu lasts about 45-minutes. This really is a tour you can do on your own by grabbing a cab to Malibu Beach ($10 US). The tour costs $10 US per person which includes the tour, 2 free drink coupons for the bar/grill, several rum tastings, and the use of the beach and facilities for several hours. Mind you the only bottled goods for sale here are Malibu Coconut flavored rum and the prices are comparable to those here stateside. Go for the tour, the beach, but don't bother buying the rum just to cart home!

I also suggest you take the tour at Mount Gay Distillery just down the street from Malibu Beach. It's a great tour, great tasting and has EXCELLENT prices for their not-available-stateside offerings.

And while I'm at it, since you'll be sailing on Destiny, the best bottle prices are at the embarkationd uty free shop at the port in San Juan. These are the best prices I saw while on Destiny.
