Rhapsody shipboard time versus Cozumel Time?

Recommended Posts

Hiya Cruisedude,

I had the same question. I also booked the 10am Royal Swim in Cozumel when the Rhapsody was scheduled to arrive at 9. Keep in mind that they request you arrive for your swim 30 minutes early. You might be able to make it but you'll be cutting it close.

Things to consider:

1. The ship arriving late.

2. Getting off the ship quickly. The line off the ships can get long and they don't move as quickly as they could since the photographers want to take a picture of everyone getting off the ship.

I followed the advice offered in this thread:

Translation: try to have your Royal swim switched to the noon session. This will give you plenty of time to arrive and explore Chankanaab a bit before your swim starts. My wife and I got lucky and there was a slot available to switch times. You're on vacation and this will allow you to relax and not worry about being late!

Good luck!

I am curious when you are sailing. We sail in Sept and are scheduled to dock at 10,as we have been the past 2 years. We have usually been early, but just wondering.

The biggest issue you will face obviously is how fast you can get off the ship.It is usually very quick, but just be aware that problems can arise. It is a short ride, but the line can be long for a taxi.....Or are you meeting a shuttle.

I'm just hoping for the best now because we got the last 3 spots on August 6th. I talked to them and they said that the very latest that we could check in would be 9:59. Do you know how long it takes to get off of the ship and how long it is to get a taxi? Thank you!

Rccl website does show it docking at 9..everything else says 10.

We were actually there last year about 830...but we gave 1st docking to Voyager, then our Captain decided to "back" into the dock,to give the tenders on that side exercise.(I really think he just wanted to haul booty out of there, cause we were at 22 knots in about 5 min:eek: ) ...anyway.

One thing. If you are booking this thru RCI...and through the excursion choices in your booklet..you will be ok.If it is an outside company, you are on your own.

Again, its a crap shoot.I dont know if you can get a taxi without waiting in that line or not...I would think so.but we have always gone to the "waiting area"..

Best bet would be 20 min from where you hit the dock,to where you get the Taxi's.I really don't remember waiting in line ever to get off in Coz...but we were not trying to be first off either.
