Dress code

Resort casual is all that's required. No jeans, shorts, or tank-tops at dinner in the dining rooms.

If you want to dress up more (tux, ball gown, suit, jacket and tie, etc.), you certainly may, but it's never required. There will be one or perhaps two OPTIONAL formal nights so those who get some enjoyment out of wearing such things can all do so on the same night(s), but resort casual (slacks and collared shirt for men) will be acceptable and the norm in all dining rooms and public areas of the ship.

Enjoy.

[/url]Dress Code in Dining Rooms

Freestyle Cruising gives our guests the freedom to dress as they please. Resort casual attire is always appropriate morning, noon and night. However, NCL/ NCLA does not allow any blue jeans, t-shirts, shorts, cut-offs, tank tops, bare feet, etc. in any of our fine dining restaurants for dinner, including all main restaurants, alternative restaurants, and cover charge venues.

Guests are allowed to wear blue jeans, shorts and t-shirts, in the evenings at the buffets, outdoor barbeques, and 24-hour venues, such as the Blue Lagoon, the Cadillac diner, etc.

Below are a few exceptions to the dining room dress code:

On the optional formal nights, only about 40% of the passengers will dress up. That 40% will range from tuxes to shirt/tie. The rest will be in resort casual. Even less will dress if there is a second formal night.

I have never worn more than a polo shirt, kahkis/dockers and sneakers on any NCL cruise, even on the formal nights. (I was on the Dawn in June)

Resort casual is acceptable in ALL dining rooms on ALL nights, even on the optional formal nights.

The joy of Freestyle, the OPTION of dressing up or not dressing up....its your choice!

What is the exact dress code for the cruise (NCL Dawn)?

~Crusinmama

Resort Causal is always acceptable. There is one "Optional Formal" night & one "Elegant" night on 10-11 day cruises. Resort Casual is fine on those night too. Less and less are dressing. That's why NCL ended their tuxedo rental option.

We have found the dress code relaxed on the first night due to delays in getting your luggage.

Have a great cruise.
