It really is a pipe dream that the Norway/France will come back to France. Its way too costly. The Intrepid and the pier is being renovated for a cost in excess of $60,000,000. The only way the Norway/France would work is if some government comes through- highly unlikely.

Yes, it really is a pipedream for the France/Norway/Blue Lady to ever sail again. Since she has little power of her own and was driven into the sand/beach in India, there really is no place for her to go. What a sad end to such a grand lady. I had dreamed of sailing on her for many years, but that will never happen.

I think that the NCL ownership of the SS United States and 'desire for refurbishment' is just such another pipedream! Unfortunately the costs to bring such ships back are just too high, and they don't have the space for the amenities that most of the current cruising public crave.

When we sail we not only enjoy the ports and shows, but also the food and the days at sea when we can do absolutely nothing, except sit and watch the people and the sea go by.
