jenlynmc Posted July 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2004 Are the dining rooms hot, cold, or just right in the evening? I have a velvet blazer which I'm considering packing but if it's warmer in the dining areas I won't need it. Any thoughts
ladymanor1 Posted July 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2004 On the Dawn last sept I found the dinning rooms to be a little on the cooler side....I was happy i had brought a sweater :) Debbie
ute_fan Posted July 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2004 Second the motion -- I expected it to be chilly in Alaska, but was kind of surprised how chilly the Caribbean was (of course, it was January). I needed a sweater or sweatshirt every night to stay warm.
trish1c Posted July 22, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2004 I was usually cold in the dining room.
ACCagent Posted July 22, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2004 The only time I have been warm in a dining room was in ALASKA!
cruisingfromMN Posted July 22, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2004 I have always found the dining rooms to be chilly. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
johnql Posted July 22, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2004 I've never had a problem with the temperature onboard a ship in the dining room at night. And since I like it chilly, I guess that means it was cool.
carol louise Posted July 23, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2004 My experience is that for the way men dress, dining rooms in ships are usually comfortable. If ladies are dressed in sundresses or bare shouldered formal gowns, it can feel a bit chilly. A velvet jacket might be just the ticket -- you can always hang it on the back of your chair if your table is in a warmer spot of the room. The show lounges can be cool for the ladies, too. On the Dawn and the Star, for example, there is an a/c vent on the back of every theater seat. Carol Louise
JoshG Posted July 24, 2004 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2004 I thought it was a little warm on the Dawn last year for the Caribbean cruise. In a tux, it was almost unbearable, and I'm not a big guy.
