stierney2 Posted July 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2004 I live in Cocoa Beach, so it is easy for me to do a last minute cruise. I was wondering how do you find out what is available and how close to the time of the cruise do you need to book for a low fare? Thanks, Sandy
DeckCadet Posted July 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2004 last minute cruises no longer exist. You have to book at least 2 weeks prior due to safety laws etc. in this post 9/11 world
LindaO Posted July 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2004 You can book as close as 72 hours out.... We had friends book for the July 4th weekend just 3 days prior... payment in full... and document information had to be faxed at least 72 hours prior to sailing.... She booked through a travel agent... But, unfortunately, as noted above.. the time of walking up to the Purser at the port, making a deal, and walking on board (as we did years ago) are long gone... GoinCruisin Posted July 22, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2004 I thought it was 48 hours, but 48-72 hours works :D You can do a last minute cruise, but the problem will be air... most of the time you get your best fares if you book at least 2 weeks out, keep yourself subscribed to some of the airfare alerts and you may be able to get something good at the last minute... but it is risky...
