DayDreamer2 Posted January 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2007 We are planning on taking an Alaskan cruise on Serendade of the seas in August 2007. We booked cabins on the right side of the ship. Is this the best side for an Alaskan cruise:confused: Thanks for your help!
Sue L Posted January 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2007 Since the cruise is a roundtrip what you miss on the way up you will see on the way back. Also the Serenade has a ton of glass so you get great views all the time and you really should move around the ship rather than just watch from your balcony. cruisienewbie Posted January 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Daydreamer, I'm on the starboard (I think that's correct) side as well. Like the previous poster said because it's round trip it probably won't matter much. One thing I do remember though is when I was booking the trip with the RC vacation planner and I asked the same question he said one thing to look for is which side is the most popular (fewest available rooms). It was the starboard side.
dirtgirl Posted January 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2007 What week are you going? We are booked for Aug. 25th.
dramaqueen4lyfe Posted January 6, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2007 We sailed on Serenade to Alaska and I agree with the OP. There is so much glass that te views are great all over. DH and I agreed that if you stay on your balcony, you miss the approach to Hubbard Glacier which is beautiful. We went up on the helicopter pad. A bit cold but worth it. If however, you want to stay on your balcony, the captian rotated the ship so that both Port and Starboard had equal views. Hope this helps. BirmanCrazy Posted January 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2007 I also booked the Starboard side in hopes it had the best views. I'm sure the views are great on both sides though~Alaska's so beautiful! Have a great time!
