Cruise Eastern Caribbean in July or August?

The rates are higher to cruise in July than August, so it's more affordable to travel in August. Is there much difference in cruising the Eastern Caribbean between these 2 months? Is the water rougher in August? I know a hurricane can more likely happen in August. Is it better to avoid that month?:)

It is a dice roll, September is the ultimate hurricane month historically, you could have bad weather in the most unlikely month...

I don't every worry about it, I just book, too many other things that are more important to worry about in life.

The main consideration with cruising during hurricane season is that the itinerary may change and/or port days may be canceled. If the itinerary is the most important thing to you, don't sail during the height of hurricane season. If you are fine with the potential for deviation and want to save some cash them go for it.

Thanks for your reply YST347. We were lucky enough this past August to experience good weather when we were on the Miracle. We'd like to try the Eastern Caribbean this time, so it may be best to go when there is less risk of a possible itinerary change. :)
