coder Posted July 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2004 Hi, we are looking at the 11 night cruise on the Empress. What is this ship like? We have not cruised RCCL--only Celebrity Millie, Summit and Zenith.
AltaJoe Posted July 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2004 Never been on the Empress, but we'll be on the 4/11/05, so perhaps we'll bump into each other (small ship). lol.
CruisFran Posted July 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2004 We have sailed the Empress/Nordic 4 times, all to Bermuda, most recently in June. Find her to be a very comfortable ship, bright and airy atmosphere. We always have had a balcony cabin, which is super! Closet was roomy...drawer space sparse!! For a ship her size, we especially like the 2-tiered dining room and showroom! New additions/changes this year make the Empress more in line with other RCI ships (Schooner bar, Portofino's, Lattetudes, Ben & Jerry's) although smaller. Portofino's was great...but we also enjoyed the food in the regular dining room. She may be the smallest ship in the fleet, but it's still not easy finding people...sometimes, at sea, you wonder where everybody is! :) Suggest if you want to meet up that you pick a specific place. We greatly enjoyed the 8 night Bermuda itinerary!!! Begging RCI to continue it for 2005!!!!
friend Posted July 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2004 We are planning to go on the Empress 11 night southern carribbean. Never been on the ship and heard the cabins are tiny. Balconies and suites are sold out. Anyone aware of this? Also, has anyone been on a cruise with this itinerary. I understand it's new and stops in about 8 ports in 11 days. Any insight or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
