Wine Transportation Question

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I searched first and was having a hard time coming up with an anwser

 

 

DH and I are planning on bringing "fine" wine on board with us during our next cruise. Does carnival regulate how you bring that on board (IE carry on or checked luggage?)

 

For those of you who have brought wine on board how do you suggest transporting it on board?

I've carried on in wine coolers and made it available for inspection at check in and never had any problem. We will bring 3-4 bottles on a 7 night cruise. Whenever in doubt, put it in your checked luggage, packaged well, but it may not show up until later.

You are allowed to bring on wine, so most just place it in their carryon. How much wine are you talking about??

Wine is probably safer to take in your carry-on rather than packing it.

Probably at maximum 4 bottles of wine. If we plan on taking more we would just disburse it among members of our group who arent bringing wine but honestly I cant see is brining more than 3 or 4

Yes, just put it in your carryon. I have seen people bring on an entire case of wine without a problem.

We wrapped our wine bottles individually in bubble wrap, then placed in a ziplock bag, then packed in our "extra suitcase" surrounded by soft things. We then use the extra suitcase to pack our purchases for the trip home.

 

Works out great, and have never had any broken bottles.

 

I hate having carry on luggage, then I have to carry it around the ship until I can get to my cabin :)
