Liberty or Insparation?

Insparation is a bit closer, a day shorter(which would actually be more convienant), and a bit less expensive for an ocean view

OVER

The liberty at the same time, a little more expesive for a balcony which we would love, a little father to drive...

how do the two ships compare overall? Worth the drive and extra effort for the liberty?

As you're probably quite aware, two different classes of ships are being compared, so the decision is more than just flipping a coin. The Inspiration is smaller, but (in my personal opinion) definitely offers the same CCL quality. You mention Inspiration would be "more convenient", and that certainly begins to put a strong vote on that decision. Vacations that are easy to plan from the start often turn out to be the best. Carnival Liberty offers a few more ammenities (in addition to its larger size), so it may be the best choice for you as well, in case something like a supper club is of personal importance.

So to make a final suggestion for you, I think I'd say go with Inspiration, and whatever amount you save, put is aside for starting plans on a future cruise (perhaps on Liberty, when it's a time that's more convenient for that fun 6-day Caribbean itinerary).

No matter what you choose, I'm betting you'll have a great vacation. Bon Voyage!!

The Inpiration is a nice ship at a very reasonable price. I've never been on the Liberty, but it is newer with a lot more to do than you will find on the Inspiration. The inspiration will be more intimate and probably a quieter atmosphere. It all depends on what you are looking for in a cruise. Greg
