momjeeps Posted January 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2007 I noticed there is a fairy from the Hyatt to Rum Point. Does anyone know if one must be staying there to use the fairy? Or what the cost is if not? I don't really want to rent a car to get out there. What other options are there other than an organized tour? Thanks, Vonavie
drew sailbum Posted January 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2007 The Rum Point ferry has not been operating for more than two years now. There are no public buses to Rum Point. Taxis are very expensive. If you do not want to take an organized tour, then the only realistic option is to rent a car and drive yourself. Your question is a frequent one on this board. I suggest you read some of the Rum Point threads.
momjeeps Posted January 9, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2007 Actually, I didn't suspect it was not running at all, but I suspected my only option would be the rental car or organized tour. I really appreciate your input though thanks for the reply. Perhaps once we finalize on when we will be going for sure I can find some meet and mingle people that want to share a ride in a rental car or something. signman Posted January 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2007 Avis will rent you a car for $59. You won't do much better than that.
