Where do you meet your butler?

I have read that your butler or concierge will meet you on the pier & show you to your room for your cruise. If they have so many cabins to serve, how is this possible? Also, where is "the pier"? Is it at check-in, outside the terminal, right inside the ship....We have Courtyard Villa & leave this Sunday. I just like to know what I'm looking for when I get somewhere.

Which ship? Your concierge should meet you before you walk onto the ship. We were not shown to our penthouse, but it may be different since you're in a courtyard villa. Your butler will stop by once you're onboard to see how he can help. :)

We had an AC penthouse on the Jewel last January. The Butler met us in the reception area of the pier and escorted us to our cabin. He also introduced our cabin attendents, showed us how to contact him, and came back by later after escorting others on board.

When we sailed the Sun in 2004 out of Miami we were met by the concierge (Ray) in the pier lounge set up for passengers travelling is suites. Our butler met us in our cabin and also introduced us to the cabin stewards.

If your butler does not come down to the reception area, he/she will, most likely, be ringing your doorbell shortly after you arrive in your villa.

 

He/she will be notified when you arrive.

For some reason, I got the greatest urge to answer "in a bar at the airport" but that would not be appropriate. Our's met us in the AB suite both times.The concierge met us at the pier with the exception of Alex who emailed us the night before and asked us to call him when we arrived at the pier. Boy, does Alex have every base covered???

We LOVED Alex...but...he is notified (as is your butler) as soon as you check in:confused:
