Sleeepy Posted January 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2007 We are booked on the Silver Moon catamaran for $105 per person. The excursion through the ship is $40 per person CHEAPER. Is the price really worth it? Anyone been or have knowledge for those have been on both who can help justify my decision? Thanks! suznf Posted January 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2007 What sets the Silvermoon apart from other similar tours (imho), was the number of people on the craft (so few), the quality of the craft (new and in pristine condition), and the level of service provided. The spots we went to had other people there but they were not crowded nor did we feel like we were in competition with other tours. Also food & drink was of better quality. (Went on the Jolly Pirates in Aruba had a great time...it was half the cost and a similar type of snorkling tour with the addition of the rope swing....everyone agreed the Silvermoon...even at twice the cost...was a better tour and worth the extra expense--even the teens (although they didn't pay for it....) We use the following criteria to choose snorkling trips: How many people will be on the boat? Where will we stop and what can we expect to see? How many other tours (and what sizes) will probably be at our stops? How much time actually in the water? Is there shade on the boat? Total capacity of the boat: total # of guests booked Reviews from other travelers. Good luck!
