Automatic $10 tip plus what else??

I find the evolution of the tipping practice quite fascinating, in short, a TIP is an acronym meaning "To Insure Promptness".

(In french, a "Pourboire" translates literally to "to drink")

Historically, a tip was given before a meal or service in essence "to insure promptness".

One can consider this a bride if they want to, but I believe that if you want to "insure" that you get good service, a pre-emptive incentive is not a bad thing.

My TA quoted me a price for our Ecstacy cruise and to my understanding he said that was including the automatic tip. Did I misunderstand? Or can you pay it when you pay for the cruise??

Christy:confused:

Hi Christy,

It looks like you can pre-pay the tips, or wait until you're onboard. Here's the link to Tipping on Carnival's site with more info:

You'll have to check with your TA to be sure which way he quoted your price :) !

Thanks so much!! That really helped!

Have Glorious Day!!
