jp2001 Posted July 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2004 I will spend 1 night in Victoria and I don't want to spend too much money. My 2 options are Huntingdon Manor Inner Harbour and Traveller's Inn Downtown. Any comments on them would be appreciated.
Urban trekker Posted July 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2004 Don't know about the Huntingdon and the Traveller's Inn are a series of older motels that have been brought up and renovated - there are scattered around the downtown core - when I go to Victoria I usually stay at the following hotel - Pauls Motor Inn on Douglas - it next door to Chinatown gate and within a mile of the inner harbour and shopping malls - it is moderate priced - but remember that Victoria accomodation is much higher in the summer than the off-season - here's a link to there web site:http://www.paulsmotorinn.com Hope this helps - enjoy your Victoria visit It also has a coffee shop/dining room with quite a bit of history - while the meals are wholesome they are not gourmet and are reasonable value for the money. dam1050 Posted July 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2004 As Dennis mentioned, Victoria rates do go up a fair bit in the high season and many hotels fill quickly. You might want to also check out the James Bay Inn http://www.jamesbayinn.bc.ca/ which is just a few blocks from the Inner Harbour, Parliament Buildings, BC Museum and near Beacon Hill Park on Government St. Another good site put out by BC Tourism for accomodation listings is located at : http://hellobc.com/bcescapes/accommodations/searchresults_1.asp?reg_code=THE+ISLANDS Have a great trip!
