Booking with online agent

I was curious if I booked a cruise with an online agent...Can we still get the reduction in rates if the price of the cruise goes down? Would we be able to call Carnival and deal with them rather than going through the online agent?

You would not be able to go through Carnival, your TA is the only one they will talk to.

 

Whether you can get reductions depends upon your contract with the TA (still a TA whether on-line or around the corner) and what you have agreed to with them. If you are outside of the final payment period you should...

When dealing with any TA, that is one of the first things you should ask them, since some are reluctant to honor price drops.

We have only had a problem with that once and it was when our agent from a very big online cruise travel agency refused to call on our behalf. Carnival as much as promised that all she had to do was call and she refused saying they weren't going to do anything for us.

 

I don't think your agent will be able to promise that if there are price drops after final payment that anything can be done, but that at least they will call and ask.
